RIPPER 6 AND 720 IV
STRAPLESS FREESTYLE AND UNCOMPROMISING WAVE RIDING
Two boards, two concepts, one ambition: maximum performance on a surfboard.
With the 720 IV and the Ripper 6, CORE updates its surfboard range with two clearly defined models for modern wave kiting. While the 720 IV is a high-performance strapless freestyle board with easy progression, the Ripper 6 is designed for experienced wave riders seeking maximum response, drive, and control in medium to large waves.
Ripper 6 – Next Level Wave Performance
The Ripper 6 marks the next evolutionary step in CORE’s wave range. Developed as a strategic hybrid of the Ripper and the Green Room, it combines the versatility of the Ripper with the composure of the Green Room in larger waves —with a clear focus on dynamic, performance-driven riding in the wave.
The redesigned shape with a narrower outline, squash tail, and progressive rocker delivers more direct and lively feedback. Active footwork and precise weight transfer are rewarded with noticeably increased drive, control, and dynamics—especially at speed, under load, and in critical sections. Less comfort zone, more response.
The advanced bottom contour with a single concave in the front and double concave in the tail supports fast, precise turns and quick direction changes. The new XPS construction with controlled flex, increased break resistance, and flat deck ensures a direct and stable riding feel—even under heavy load and in larger waves.
Key Facts Ripper 6:

720 IV – Freestyle Performance. Easy Access.
The 720 IV is CORE’s high-performance strapless freestyle board for riders who want to consistently combine surfing and jumping. Its compact, refined shape, thin yet extremely robust construction, and intuitive handling make the 720 IV the ideal board for riders who take strapless freestyle seriously.
Thanks to its balanced shape, the board can be ridden confidently right away —even without prior surf experience. Lower technical demands on foot placement and weight transfer, high stability, and predictable feedback ensure that riders gain confidence from the very first session —whether performing their first bottom turn or landing strapless air tricks.
The optimized shape with reduced tail rocker, flatter channels, and a thinner profile
provides improved low-end performance, effortless upwind ability, and a more direct board feel. The new XPS sandwich construction with a full Soric layer significantly increases durability and control while delivering greater control in chop and gusty conditions.
The result is a lightweight, stable board with smooth landings, high control, and intuitive handling.
