We jumped in the car and drove to Hermanus without really knowing if the wind would show up. The forecast didn’t look promising, and driving two and a half hours for nothing wasn’t exactly the plan. 

But when we arrived, we were rewarded with light winds. We rode out to the sandbank, where I ran into Samu, who had just started shooting some photos. As the wind slowly picked up, he asked me to launch from a specific spot — and suddenly the session turned into a full-on shoot.

A trip to Los Roques is always something special, but exploring the archipelago with local legends Jordy Pro and Carlos Mario took it to another level. We loaded the kites and headed out to one of the many remote islands scattered across turquoise water, far from anything that resembled civilization. Endless sandbanks, soft and steady wind, and the rhythm of waves wrapping around the reefs. From above, the colors of the ocean reveal just how unreal this place really is. No distractions, no noise - just wind, salt, and the kind of days you wish you could stretch forever.
