Performance and progress in light winds

The CORE Era LW Twintip

Just like last year, CORE opens up the 2025 product year with the innovative Era Twintip. The light wind experts from Fehmarn are expanding the extremely well-started new model with a dedicated LW version for ideal performance in low winds - also manufactured in a particularly sustainable design.

Exceptional expertise in light wind products

CORE has been dedicated to this mission from the start - ensuring riders can enjoy the water even in the lightest breeze without sacrificing performance or fun.

"The Era Twintip, which was launched for the first time in 2024 - performed extremely well in tests and customer feedback - offers the ideal platform for adding dedicated lightwind shapes," says Philip Schinnagel, Managing Director of CORE, and continues: "The innovative design of the Era not only achieves very good performance in these conditions, but also meets the times with its sustainable, resource-optimized use of materials."

Early planning and excellent upwind characteristics

Available in two sizes, the Era LW guarantees "early planning and excellent upwind characteristics and feels surprisingly agile," says Twintip developer Marc Schütze, summarizing the board's key competence. The paulownia wood core, encased in volcanic basalt fabric, provides a perfect balance of flex and stiffness. Whether beginners want more safety or experienced riders want to refine their skills - the Era LW opens completely new possibilities in two different versions:

Era LW 154 x 46 cm – The Agile Performer

The Era LW 154 combines outstanding light wind characteristics with agility. The parabolic outline with a minimal radius in the center of the board provides superior edge control and outstanding upwind, while the multi-channel design and voluminous keel ensure precise feedback and playful control. The flex was optimally matched to the basalt construction via a continuous concave. Perfect for kiters who want to have more stability and control in light wind conditions, or heavier riders who want to freestyle in low winds. In combination with a 12-metre XR8, everyone can get up high no matter the conditions.

Era LW 159 x 47 cm – The Sovereign Cruiser

For those who want to be the first on the water – even if some foilers are still hesitant – the Era LW 159 is the perfect choice. The concave lightwind outline, balanced flex characteristics and angular box rails allow the board to glide deeper and flatter in the water, maximizing upwind potential. Also with a continuous concave as well as wider tips that guarantee early planning and reliable passage in wind holes. The 159 offers extreme edge control and offers you confident riding fun for a long time until the wind dies down completely.

Basalt – high stiffness with ideal damping properties

Basalt is used as a fabric in the Era - a natural, volcanic effusion rock that can be melted at high temperatures and processed into continuous textile fibres. Compared to glass fibers, basalt fibers have excellent damping properties as well as significantly higher tensile and compressive strength as well as stiffness. Together with the wood core and the Greenpoxy® (35% plant-based), the ecological footprint of the Era LW has been significantly reduced compared to conventional twintips.
