What’s the idea behind it, what can visitors expect – and what does the Homespot mean for CORE and its community?
In this interview, CORE managing directors Jochen Czwalina and Philip Schinnagel share insights into the concept, talk about how it came to life, and explain why the Homespot is something truly special to them.

What’s the idea behind the new Homespot?
Philip: With the Homespot, we want to make CORE more accessible and tangible – much like at our events, but stronger, year-round, and right here at our home base on Fehmarn. But the Homespot is more than just a showroom: it's a place for real exchange with our community, for in-depth advice, and – most importantly – for hands-on product experience and testing. Right outside the door, at one of the many spots on the island.
What can visitors expect?
Philip: With the Homespot, we're creating a bridge between brand experience and retail. The focus lies on personal consultation, product testing, and a seamless handover to the shops. Our goal: a maximum product experience for end customers – combined with a clear commitment to our retail partners.
What does the Homespot mean for CORE and your customers?
Jochen: After more than 20 years, CORE finally has a true contact point. What we've experienced and enjoyed at so many beach events around the world – direct contact with our fans, customers, and partners – we can now offer permanently on Fehmarn. And it feels absolutely right. It allows for honest, authentic interaction, and gives our customers the chance to explore our watersports products, the brand, and the people behind it in a relaxed setting.
How long have you been planning the Homespot?
Jochen: The idea of creating this kind of space - where we can present the brand and connect directly with customers – has been with us for a long time. When the opportunity arose to take over this location, we didn’t have to think twice. The spot in the heart of Burg, the open layout – it all just fit perfectly. It was the right time to turn a long-held vision into reality.
What does the Homespot mean to you personally?
Philip: For me, the Homespot is a true passion project. After so many years, finally being able to offer a meaningful space for connection with our community – right here on the island, in our own neighborhood – is something really special. Many of us grew up here or chose to stay here for life to follow the passion for the sport.
Jochen: You’ll feel that the moment you walk in. And you’ll understand what happens when you’ve had a conversation with our likeminded, watersports-obsessed team at the Homespot – then grab the latest gear and head straight out to test it under perfect, almost lab-like conditions in the Orther Reede or in the waves at Altenteil or Westermarkelsdorf.
Philip: That’s when you truly get what CORE is all about – and what drives us every single day: to create perfect moments on the water and unforgettable experiences in nature – for you, and for all of us.
