Section 5
A World-Class Wave Kite
CORE presents the fifth generation of its wave specialist: The successful story and freshly crowned world tour winner continues in careful evolution instead of revolution. For section fans, wave chasers, surfers.
Proven shape, new qualities
Numerous optimizations give the Section 5 an even better drift. At the same time, its airframe is stiffer, thanks to intelligent volume distribution in the leading edge: Towards the middle, the front tube is now a bit thinner, while it’s bit thicker towards the tips compared to the Section 4. The Section 5 retains its material combination of the low-stretch and tear-resistant CoreTex 2, the stiff and ultra-robust ExoTex 2 for the leading edge and ExoTex Light for the struts. All three CORE-exclusive materials are among the best on the market when it comes to performance and durability. "Our regular tests with other materials show that ExoTex 2 and CoreTex 2 continue to play at the top and are exactly the right choice for the requirements of the section," says Managing Director Philip Schinnagel.
Surf-specific flight behavior, always in full control
The material mix of ExoTex 2 Dacron and CoreTex 2 cloth is the secret to ultra-direct and fast steering for aggressive turns and cutbacks. Just like the surf-friendly, cushioning flight behavior that distinguishes the Section from other wave kites. In the breathtaking and adrenaline-pumping down-the-line rides, the rider always remains full control, even depowered. Perfectly matched to all four CORE surfboards, the Section 5 serves all surfing disciplines from small waves to large overhead breakers and also strapless freestyle. With its qualities, the Section 5 is also ideal for foiling.
World-class performance
The Section 5 was significantly co-developed by Brazilian team rider Gabriel Benetton, among others. No wonder he also used it on the GKA World Tour, where he was crowned World Champion in the final event on 27.10.24 in Ibiraquera, Brazil.
Gabriel's equipment: Section 5, Sensor 4 Pro and Green Room 3. In the strapless freestyle format on Sylt, he was shining with the Nexus 4 and 720 and scored a smooth 10 points with a triple frontroll shove-it 3.
